Admission Procedure

In accordance with guidelines/principals laid down in the order of the Hon'ble supreme Court of the India in T.M.A. Pai Foundation and other Vs State of Karnataka (Writ petition No. 517 of 1995) delivered on 31st October 2002, the admission of the candidate to a course is made on the merits prepared on the basis of entrance examination on All India basis and the subsequent interview held by the institute. 25% seats in all courses are reserved for NRI/sponsored candidates, for which their shall be direct admission on the basis of the marks obtained in qualifying examination and interview. The candidates should bring marksheet and certificates in original along with the photocopies at the time of the interview.

Eligibility

Admission to the first year of a graduate course is open to a candidate who has passed 10+2 system of education (SSCE-2 Years / CBSE/ISCE-2 Years/Intermediate Board/Pre-University Examination-2 Years) with PCB / PCM. However, students who have passed 2 years diploma course after Matriculation (10th class) from any state technical board/ University council will also be eligible in respective courses.
The candidate must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in PCB / PCM taken together in the qualifying examination. In respect of the candidates belonging to SC / ST / OBC the marks obtained in PCB / PCM taken together in the qualifying examination year P.G.Diploma in Clinical Diagnostics shall be open to a candidate who has passed 10+2+3 pattern of education with 50% marks as aggregate with any one of the following subjects:- Microbiology, Medical Lab Technology, Medical Microbiology, B.v.Sc., B.P.T., B.Sc. (Medical group), B.Sc. (Radio & Imaging Technology), B.Sc. (Nursing), M.B.B.S. or equivalent graduate degree in medical sciences recognised by the University.

Distribution of Seats

75% seats of sanctioned intake will be open and will be filled through common entrance test and interview conducted by the Institute on the basis of merit. This 75% includes 10% seats of the sanctioned intake earn market for students belonging to poor and weaker section of the society including SC / ST / OBC and 50% seats of the sanctioned intake earn market to the bonafied candidate of Uttarakhand State, 2% Physically Challenged and 1% for students bonafied of J. & K. State. In case, the above category seat remains vacant after the expiry of the time given to the candidates of the second list, the seats shall revert to the general category.

Weightage

Special weight age of two marks in each of the following categories will be given to:-

  • Recipient of National talent award of NCERT.
  • N.C.C. cadet who have passed the “B” or “C” of “G-II” Certificate/holders of certificates of merit for N.S.S./MFIP awarded by the University or State government or students who have been commended or recommended (i.e. have obtained first or second positions) at the inter zonal, inter-university, inter State or State level Youth festival/sports events/ tournaments organized by State government/ University either individually or as member of team.
  • Candidates (Wife, Son or Daughter) of Military or Paramilitary personnel killed in action or Defence personnel permanently disabled in action. (Max. weightage including all categories will be permitted up to 5 marks only)
